Literacy and Numeracy

The teachers plan a variety of rich and meaningful learning experience when teaching Literacy and Numeracy. The staff believe in explicitly teaching content fundamentals that will then be used, practised and mastered through their open ended and problem based learning tasks.

Our early intervention program for students begins with the Reading Recovery Program which started in 2005. Reading Recovery supports the children in Year One who are having difficulty reaching the milestones in reading. It is an intensive program where each child works one on one with the Reading Recovery teacher building up reading, writing and sound knowledge.
